Rosewater is a liquid that be extracted from Mohammadi flower (scientific name: Rosa × damascena) which is fragrant. Rosewater is the result of distilling the flowers of a freshly planted rose bush with water that essential oil has been separated from an aqueous solution, which should be kept in containers with a small amount of air. The original rose is clear and without sediment, and its scent is a pleasant smell and has no sour smell. The taste of rose is heavy and slightly bitter, which is one of the most important signs of the originality of rose. Rose has a warm and mild nature.
گلاب بعد از سکنجبین بیشترین مصرف را در بین مردم در قدیم داشته و امروزه نیز مصرف فراوانی دارد. گلاب یکی از نوشیدنی های پرمصرف در طب سنتی است. گلاب طبع میانه تا حدودی رو به خنکی دارد. بنابراین برای اکثر افراد مصرف آن توصیه می شود و عارضه خاصی ندارد. طبیعت گلاب گرم است و مقوی معده، قلب، کبد و اعصاب بوده و آرامبخشی قوی به حساب می‌آید. به همین دلیل است که قدیم ترها مصرف گلاب را در روزهای سخت و پرتنش لازم می دانستند. این مایع خوشبو و معطر تا حدودی تحریک کننده جریان خون بوده و بافت پوست را به تولید سلول های جدید تحریک می‌کند.
